Rating: 8/10

Iron Man 3 gets a lot of hate but I don't think it deserves it. While yes, "that" twist is somewhat jarring and a waste of actor talent, I think it was a brave decision and too many people can't get past it and see the movie for what it really is; a fantastic finale in the Iron Man trilogy.

Following up The Avengers, Tony is suffering from PTSD due to the events of The Avengers; which I enjoyed. Seeing a hero deal with traumatic experiences that come from being a superhero is something that, while not unheard of, isn't really portrayed in mainstream media. We see Tony stripped down and built back up all in this one movie. A big question that this movie deals with is identity. Who is Tony Stark? Is he Iron Man? Or is he just the Mechanic? By the end of the film we see that he is both and it is demonstrated by showing Tony use his intellect in order to get things done when he doesn't have access to his suits. He even blows them all up at the end because, all said and done, they aren't Iron Man, he is.

From the action sequences, to Shane Black's trademark style, Iron Man 3 is a fun ride from start to finish. I love this movie more than most people seem to and I think that, if you haven't already, you should rewatch it and give it another chance.
