Ant-Man and the Wasp

Directed by: Peyton Reed

Release Date: July 6th, 2018

Rating: 6/10

Ant-Man and the Wasp is entertaining. I like that after Infinity War we get to see a smaller scale film, but because of that it's also subconsciously held to the same level as Infinity War and it couldn't possibly meet that standard. However, it is not a bad film by any means. I had fun while watching it and it's one of those movies that you can sit down, turn your brain off, and relax while you watch.

The main problem with this movie is it's villain and her motivation. Ghost had the potential to be very interesting and a very compelling villain, but again Marvel falls into their villain problem. In the final product Ghost comes off as nothing more than a nuisance for the heroes and her plan is so dumb that the problem she's trying to fix gets fixed a better way in about 2 seconds of someone else trying to fix it.

Overall I think this is a mediocre entry in the MCU, but it is by no means a bad movie, just enjoyable and forgettable. If you weren't committed to watching every MCU movie than I'd say you could skip this one.
