Way better than I expected it to be. I think it might be the best video game movie that I have seen. The story, while generic, is enough to keep me interested for the runtime of the film. When I first heard that Ryan Reynolds was going to voice, not only Pikachu, but DETECTIVE Pikachu, I thought that was the dumbest thing ever. But after seeing the movie I think that there's nobody else that could've played him. I loved the color palette as well. The neons with a focus on blues and pinks really visually pop. I genuinely like this movie. It's a fun time for all ages.
