Aquaman is the latest entry in the "Worlds of DC" (I'm still gonna call it the DCEU) and is the first film released under the oversight of Walter Hamada since Geoff Johns was let go. While it is far from perfect, it's a step in the right direction for DC. The biggest change I can tell from this change in management, besides the colors being bright enough to actually see things, is that they seem to be embracing the campiness of their superheroes rather than trying to make them real and gritty. What a great film to debut that new business plan though.

There's a lot wrong with this movie, story-wise, but overall it's a very enjoyable movie that I can just turn my brain off and watch. The plot is very generic and predictable, but that doesn't mean you can't have fun while watching it. That's the main word I would use to describe this movie, fun.

Jason Momoa really stands out in this movie. He was alright in Justice League, as I liked how the character was being portrayed, but some of the lines he had were poorly written. He really seemed like he was having fun filming this movie.

While there's a lot that could've been better, it's easily one of the best movies in the DCEU and I can only hope that Hamada takes what worked from this movie and expands upon it for future installments.
