Halloween is a fantastic slasher-horror film. The cinematography is amazing and Jamie Lee Curtis is a standout. Reprising her role as Laurie Strode, Curtis demonstrates a woman suffering from PSTD due to the events of the first movie. While she shows a vulnerable side, she’s also a badass, a la Sarah Connor. Green makes creative uses of Myers’ kills and stalking scenes. The only thing I didn’t like was that there was a little too much focus on the granddaughter’s social life between her boyfriend and a school dance, but that doesn’t last very long. This is a modern horror masterpiece and I think we’re going to get a lot of films that try to copy it’s success, much like the original Halloween.
