Rating: 8/10

Us is Jordan Peele’s second feature length film. Which is crazy that he’s only had one movie released and yet his films are on the level of being recognizable by his name alone. Like a Spielberg or a Tarantino. Us is really good. While Get Out was more of a horror political commentary piece, Us is more of a straight up horror film about doppelgangers. The way that this movie is shot, edited, and scored really creep you out. The acting is amazing, especially from the main cast. Not only did they have to do a good job playing a terrified family, they also had to play the terrifying doppelgangers. Both roles were played wonderfully. Where this movie has some issues is the third act. I think that once you know why there are these duplicates of the family it becomes a little less interesting to watch. In my opinion, I think it would’ve been better to do more of the type of stuff in the second act and then end on the reveal of why there are these people here and what they plan on doing and just… leave it. Leaving the movie that way would’ve made for a film with more creative problem solving and terrifying situations and the fact that what would happen next is up to the viewer. However, this is not what we got. And what we got was good, I enjoyed it a lot, I just think it could’ve been better.
